One year of digital EU response to COVID-19
Tuesday, 29 June, 11 a.m. – 12 p.m. (CET), 2021
On 29 June 2021, the Digital4Development (D4D) Hub on behalf of the European Commission and the Portuguese Presidency of the Council of the European Union organized the High-level online Event “One year of digital EU response to COVID-19".
One year after “Communication on the Global EU response to COVID-19” JOIN(2020) 11 final, 8 April 2020, the event showcased the Team Europe’s actions, impacts on innovative digital COVID-19 projects, and learnings for the way forward for the digital Team Europe COVID-19 response worldwide.
In the past year, the EU Commission and Member States supported successful projects in the global pandemic response which have reached 206 million people and 661,000 citizens in 42 countries benefitted directly from the COVID-19 response activities.
The results shown at the event have confirmed the strength and potential of digital solutions to tackle the Covid-19 crisis, for international cooperation and for global recovery.
